Dubai

City of The Future

My sons Andre and Allen, my mum and I  had been dreaming of an exotic vacation, and Dubai was the perfect destination. From the moment we stepped off the plane, the city’s gleaming skyline and vibrant energy pulled us in.

Day 1: Marvels of Modern Dubai

We began their adventure by soaring up the Burj Khalifa. The view from the top was breathtaking, with the vast desert meeting the futuristic city below. Afterward, we explored the Dubai Mall, where the kids were amazed by the enormous Dubai Aquarium. The day ended with the family watching the dazzling Dubai Fountain Show, as music and lights danced over the water.

Day 2: Cultural Discoveries

The next day, we ventured into Old Dubai. At Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, we felt like time travelers walking through ancient streets. We crossed Dubai Creek in a traditional abra, marveling at the contrast between the old souks and the glitzy modern city. I couldn’t resist buying a shimmering gold bracelet at the Gold Souk.

Day 3: Adventure at Palm Jumeirah

Day three was full of excitement at Atlantis, The Palm. We spent the day at Aquaventure Waterpark, screaming down waterslides and relaxing on the lazy river. We started the morning with a splash at Aquaventure Waterpark, where my sons Andre and Allen, braved the Leap of Faith, a nearly vertical waterslide that plunges you through a clear tunnel surrounded by sharks. My mum and I opted for a more relaxed vibe, floating down the lazy river,  taking in the tropical atmosphere.

After a morning of thrilling water rides, we headed to The Lost Chambers Aquarium, where over 65,000 marine animals swim around you in a stunning underwater maze. If you are lucky, You might even get up close with rays and sharks at the touch pools.

For lunch, make sure you dine at Bread Street Kitchen & Bar by Gordon Ramsay, enjoy a family-friendly British meal with views of the Dubai skyline.

Next, I suggest you treat yourself to a Dolphin Encounter at Dolphin Bay, where you can swim and play with these friendly creatures. Believe me when i say – It’s a magical experience for all ages.

Wrap up your adventure-filled day with some retail therapy at the Atlantis Shopping Avenues, and maybe grab a sweet treat before ending your day with a sunset stroll on the beach.

In the evening, we enjoyed dinner by the Marina, watching the yachts drift by as the sky turned orange.

Day 4: Desert Safari

The highlight of the trip was our desert safari. Dune bashing had them laughing and gripping their seats, while camel rides and a BBQ under the stars felt like something out of a movie. We watched traditional belly dancers and felt the magic of the desert night.

Day 5: Final Adventures

Our last day was spent exploring the Dubai Miracle Garden and the futuristic Museum of the Future. As the trip came to an end, my children and mum couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had. I promised they would return to Dubai one day—there was still so much to see!
